Following the tragic and untimely death of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg, the nation’s attention is on her now vacant seat. Given the proximity to the election and the soon-to-be-overturned-precedent that Mitch McConnell and Republicans hypocritically — and illegitimately — set in 2016 by refusing to hold a vote on Merrick Garland’s confirmation, many Americans are rightfully concerned about the likelihood that Republicans will ram through a nominee before the election or, should Biden win, during the lame duck period before his inauguration.

These concerns are well-founded. The Republican party is only competitive because of racism and cheating, and just as they cheated Garland out of a seat in 2016, they will undeniably try to cheat again and force a confirmation on whichever unqualified and myopic candidate Trump chooses for the position. Liberals and anyone concerned with the legitimacy of our democracy should be focused on the fight to preserve the opening until after the election, and, should Biden win, until after his inauguration. The battle is important and worthy of our time and attention.

But it should not obscure the illegitimacy of the current court, specifically its most recent addition, Brett Kavanaugh.

This Man is a Perjurer and Likely a Sexual Predator
