And It’s Happened In the Past

We all watched what unfolded on January 6th, but for anyone paying attention, this was just the culmination of years of right wing propaganda. During all of that time, very few wanted to say the real words of what was happening in the experiment for Democracy, and those that did weren’t really taken seriously. Slowly, the right wing sources kept feeding their sycophants who were hungry for hate of everything and everyone “not like them,” using every opportunity to vilify people of color, the poor, and anyone that called themselves “liberal.” All the while, they stomped around carrying their U.S. and Confederate flags, screaming that they were “patriots.” The question has always been “patriot of what?” Their twisted and sick version of what they think America should be was sanctified by the likes of trump and his boot-licking lackeys and even after the attempted coup of January 6th ended, they continue to white-wash and downplay the horrific events of that day. But this isn’t the first time in history that this kind of thing has happened. Hyper-nationalism is one of the characteristics of fascism, and we need only look back to pre-WWII Germany and Italy to see the very same scenes playing out.

One has to wonder why so many of our family members fought, bled, and died fighting fascism only to have their misguided descendants leap to the other side of the screen to become the very enemies that they combated. There should be some kind of analysis as to the types of people that can be so easily swayed, forgoing all critical thinking, to support a political ideology that is so far from the concept of Democracy and yet waive U.S. flags over it as though it is something that they own. We know that propaganda and brainwashing does work, and thanks to sources (not considered news) as Fox, OAN, and Newsmax, combined with the constant social media feed, these people are hell bent into thinking that they are “patriots” while they demean anyone that is different.

Freedom to these right wing a$$bites only means free under what they decided. Take the concept of the pandemic as an example. They are “told” by their right wing leaders not to take the vaccine and not to wear masks, while the medical community begs them to do so to save their health. The right wing…
