Few words are as abused as “self-defense”. The right to defend oneself is among the most sacred of rights, but the idea of “defense” is a judgment call, and not everyone agrees. This is why cases of self-defense or claimed self-defense must be adjudicated. Self-defense is about intent, not the act.
